What is Sikkim CM Scholarship?
Sikkim Chief Minister's Scholarship is the state's flagship merit-cum-means scholarship providing ₹15,000 to ₹25,000 per year to meritorious students from Sikkim pursuing higher education — graduation, postgraduate, and professional courses (engineering, medicine, law, MBA). Priority is given to Sikkim Subject Certificate holders from economically weaker sections. Scholarship amount varies by course and institution. Separate quotas for tribal (Bhutia, Lepcha) and non-tribal Sikkimese students.
Under this scheme, eligible beneficiaries receive ₹15,000–₹25,000/year for meritorious Sikkim students in graduation to professional courses. The scheme was launched in 2014 and is implemented by the Government of Sikkim.
