What is AP Nethanna Bharosa?
AP Nethanna Bharosa is an investment-support scheme of the Andhra Pradesh Department of Handloom and Textiles that puts working capital directly into the hands of traditional handloom weaver families. Weaving is seasonal and cash-strapped, and yarn, dyes and loom maintenance often eat up a weaver's earnings before the cloth is even sold; this scheme eases that pressure by giving ₹25,000 a year per weaver family. Launched by the state government in 2024, it focuses on genuine handloom workers, not power-loom operators, and covers families in AP's traditional weaving clusters such as Mangalagiri, Venkatagiri, Ongole, Chirala and Uppada.
