What is AP Minority Scholarship?
The Andhra Pradesh Minority Welfare Department runs a post-matric scholarship to keep students from notified minority communities — Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Parsi and Jain — in higher education. Eligible students from Class 11 up to PhD in recognised institutions receive full reimbursement of tuition fees along with a monthly maintenance allowance of ₹500 to ₹1,200. Applications are filed each academic year on the AP ePass portal under the Minority category, where the minority community certificate, income proof, bonafide and fee receipt are verified. Once sanctioned, the fee component is settled with the institution and the maintenance amount is credited directly to the student's Aadhaar-linked bank account.
Under this scheme, eligible beneficiaries receive Full tuition fee + ₹500–₹1,200/month maintenance — AP minority students Class 11 to PhD. The scheme was launched in 2014 and is implemented by the Government of Andhra Pradesh.
