What is AP Jagananna Gorumudda?
Jagananna Gorumudda (Jagan's Morsel) is Andhra Pradesh's enhanced implementation of PM Poshan (National Programme for Mid-Day Meals). AP provides cooked mid-day meals with significantly higher nutrition standards: rice, dal, vegetables daily + 2 eggs per week (1 egg per week initially, enhanced to 2). The state allocates additional ₹9 per child per day over and above central allocation. Covers all students in Classes 1-8 in government and government-aided schools — 40 lakh students.
