What is Indira Gandhi Matritva Poshan Yojana?
Indira Gandhi Matritva Poshan Yojana is a maternal-nutrition scheme run by the Women & Child Development (WCD) Department of the Rajasthan government. It is aimed at pregnant women carrying their second child onwards, who often miss out on first-child maternity support. Eligible mothers receive ₹6,000 paid in four instalments — released against milestones from first-trimester Anganwadi registration through antenatal check-ups, institutional delivery and completion of the child's immunisation. The money is transferred straight into the woman's own Aadhaar-linked bank account through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), so there are no middlemen.
