What is Rajasthan Free Mobile Yojana?
Indira Gandhi Smartphone Yojana (renamed Mukhyamantri Free Mobile Yojana under current BJP government) is Rajasthan's flagship free smartphone scheme. Originally launched by Congress government in 2023; continued (with branding change) under BJP government 2024+. Provides FREE smartphone + 3 years of FREE internet/calling data (9 months prepaid + auto-recharge by govt) to 1.35 crore women heads of family in Rajasthan, especially Chiranjeevi Health Insurance + NREGA + Single Women categories. Total budget ₹12,000+ crore.
Under this scheme, eligible beneficiaries receive FREE smartphone + 3 years FREE internet/calling for 1.35 crore Rajasthan women heads of family. The scheme was launched in 2023 and is implemented by the Government of Rajasthan.
