What is Kamdhenu Bima Yojana Rajasthan?
Kamdhenu Bima Yojana Rajasthan is the state government's cattle insurance scheme providing ₹40,000 insurance cover per animal (cow or buffalo) against death or permanent disability. Maximum 2 animals per family gives total coverage of ₹80,000. BPL families get fully government-paid premium — no cost to them. APL families pay a nominal subsidised premium of ₹100–₹200 per animal per year. In case of animal death, a veterinary certificate and FIR must be filed within 7 days. The scheme is administered by the Animal Husbandry Department, Rajasthan, and is separate from the central Kamdhenu scheme. First launched in 2013 under the Vasundhara Raje government, it has been continued and expanded with improvements.
