BALARAM (Bank Linkage and Agri-credit Mechanism Across Rural Areas of Mission Shakti) is Odisha government's interest-free crop loan scheme for small and marginal farmers through PACS (Primary Agricultural Credit Societies). 5.70 lakh farmers get crop loans up to ₹50,000 at 0% interest — the state pays the interest subsidy. BALARAM operates through Odisha's Mission Shakti SHG network, linking women SHGs with credit for agriculture. Repayment is within 12 months.
