What is Odisha Handloom Weaver Scheme?
Odisha is famous for Sambalpuri sarees, Ikat, Pasapalli, and Bomkai textiles. The Handloom, Textile & Handicraft Department supports registered handloom weavers through: ₹3,000/year input subsidy (yarn, dye), 50% subsidy on new loom/jacquard attachment, ₹2 lakh life insurance + ₹1 lakh disability cover under MGBVY (Mahatma Gandhi Bunkar Bima Yojana), health insurance through Aarogyashree/BSKY, marketing support through BOBBIL and UTKALIKA government emporiums, GI tag protection for Sambalpuri, and free design training at Weaver Service Centres.
