What is Mera Pani Meri Virasat?
Haryana Mera Pani Meri Virasat Yojana provides ₹7,000 per acre incentive to farmers who shift from water-intensive paddy (dhaan) cultivation to alternative crops — maize, cotton, pulses, bajra, or horticulture crops — to conserve groundwater.
Under this scheme, eligible beneficiaries receive ₹7,000 per acre incentive for switching from paddy to water-saving crops. The scheme was launched in 2020 and is implemented by the Government of Haryana.
हरियाणा मेरा पानी मेरी विरासत योजना में धान की खेती छोड़कर मक्का, कपास, दलहन, बाजरा या बागवानी फसलें उगाने वाले किसानों को ₹7,000/एकड़ प्रोत्साहन राशि मिलती है। भूजल बचाने के लिए शुरू की गई यह योजना 2020 से चल रही है।
