What is Haryana Mahila Samridhi?
Mahila Samridhi Yojana is a long-running microfinance scheme that puts working capital into the hands of Scheduled Caste women in Haryana so they can start or expand a small business of their own. Implemented through the Haryana Backward Classes & EWS Welfare Nigam, it offers self-employment loans of up to ₹60,000 at a concessional 5% rate of interest, channelled through Self Help Groups so that women borrow and repay as a supported group rather than alone. The money is meant for income-generating trades that women can run close to home — tailoring and stitching, a beauty parlour, food processing, petty manufacturing and similar micro-enterprises. Applications are made online through saralharyana.gov.in using the Parivar Pehchan Patra, after which the District Welfare Office verifies the case and the sanctioned amount is routed to the beneficiary's bank account.
Under this scheme, eligible beneficiaries receive ₹60,000 self-employment loan at 5% interest for SC women entrepreneurs in Haryana. The scheme was launched in 1994 and is implemented by the Government of Haryana.
