What is Haryana Livestock Insurance?
Haryana Mukhyamantri Pashudhan Bima Yojana provides free livestock insurance to BPL families for cattle (cow, buffalo, bullock), sheep, goat, and pig. BPL families (PPP income ≤ ₹1.80 lakh): insurance premium 100% paid by government. Coverage: ₹40,000-80,000 per cattle head, ₹5,000 per sheep/goat. Covers: accidental death, disease death. Tag (ear tag) applied to each insured animal. Non-BPL farmers: premium subsidy 50%. Convergence with PMFBY livestock (central). Over 5 lakh animals insured annually in Haryana. Apply through pashudhanharyana.gov.in or nearest Veterinary Hospital (VH).
