What is Namo Laxmi Yojana Gujarat?
Namo Laxmi Yojana is Gujarat Government's new scholarship scheme launched in Budget 2024-25 by CM Bhupendra Patel to encourage girl students to complete their secondary and higher secondary education. Under the scheme, girl students from Classes 9-12 studying in government or government-aided schools receive a total scholarship of ₹50,000 over 4 years: ₹10,000/year in Class 9 and 10, and ₹15,000/year in Class 11 and 12. The scheme targets 10 lakh girl students annually and aims to prevent school dropout among girls from economically weaker families. Amount is deposited directly into the girl's or guardian's Aadhaar-linked bank account.
