What is Gujarat Urban Employment Scheme?
Gujarat's Swarna Jayanti Shahari Rozgar Yojana (SJSRY) and its successor DAY-NULM (Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana - National Urban Livelihoods Mission) provides urban employment and livelihood support to BPL families in Gujarat cities. Key components: (1) Self-Employment Programme: subsidy loan up to ₹2 lakh for micro-enterprise (25% subsidy, max ₹50,000); (2) Skill training 6-month free vocational courses; (3) Urban Wage Employment: 100 days work on city infrastructure projects; (4) SHG formation: ₹10,000 revolving fund for urban women SHGs.
