Mukhyamantri Amrutam (MA) Yojana is Gujarat Government's flagship free health insurance scheme for BPL (Below Poverty Line) and lower middle-class families. Launched in 2012, it provides cashless treatment up to ₹5 lakh per family per year for serious illnesses including heart disease, cancer, kidney failure, neuro surgery, burns, polytrauma, and neonatal care. The scheme covers both government and empanelled private hospitals across Gujarat and all of India. MA Vatsalya Yojana (launched 2014) extended the coverage to families with annual income up to ₹4 lakh. Over 1 crore families covered under the combined MA umbrella.
