What is Manav Garima Yojana?
Manav Garima Yojana is a Gujarat State Scheduled Caste Welfare Department self-employment scheme that provides FREE toolkits worth up to ₹4,000 to people from Scheduled Caste (SC) communities to start small home-based businesses. 28 different trade-based toolkits available — Tailoring/Stitching, Embroidery, Beauty Parlour, Mobile Repairing, Cobbler, Barber, Carpentry, Welding, Plumbing, Snacks/Papad making, Idli/Dosa, Vegetable cart, Fish vending, Agarbatti making etc. The scheme aims to empower SC families to start income-generating activities without large investment. Over 1 lakh families benefit annually. While not strictly a student scheme, students from SC families completing skill courses (Class 10+) often qualify and use it to fund their first small enterprise alongside studies.
