What is CG PMAY Rural Housing?
PMAY-Gramin (Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana - Rural) is run in Chhattisgarh by the state Rural Development Department in partnership with the Centre to help rural BPL families who are homeless or living in kachha houses build a permanent pucca home. Each sanctioned family receives ₹1.30 lakh per unit — ₹1.20 lakh as the central share plus a ₹10,000 state top-up — enough to build a unit with two rooms, a kitchen, a toilet and an electricity connection. Beneficiaries are identified from the SECC 2011 list and the Awaas+ survey, with SC/ST families given priority allocation; CG additionally runs Mukhyamantri Nyay Griha Yojana for residual BPL households. The grant is released in instalments by DBT to the family's Aadhaar-linked bank account as construction progresses, with applications routed through the Gram Panchayat. More than 30 lakh houses have been sanctioned in CG.

Eligible — Rural BPL homeless family identified through SECC with no pucca house and no prior government housing — meets every stated condition for a ₹1.30 lakh unit.
An SC rural household in Bastar, homeless and on the Awaas+ list, that has never received a government house
Eligible — Qualifies as a rural BPL homeless family and, being SC, also gets priority allocation under the scheme.

Common Mistakes — Why CG PMAY Rural Housing Applications Get Rejected
- ✗Assuming you can apply even though the family name is not in the SECC 2011 / Awaas+ list — selection is from that survey, not open registration.
- ✗Already owning a pucca house or having taken a government housing benefit before, which makes the family ineligible.
- ✗A bank account that is not Aadhaar-linked, so the ₹1.30 lakh DBT instalments cannot be credited as construction progresses.
- ✗Not following up with the Gram Panchayat/BDO for verification, so the file is never added to the PMAY-G beneficiary list.
Insider Tips for CG PMAY Rural Housing
- →Check whether your household appears in the SECC 2011 / Awaas+ data at the Gram Panchayat first — getting added to that list is the key step.
- →Open and Aadhaar-link a bank account before approval so the staged DBT instalments release without delay.
- →If you are an SC/ST family, mention it during verification to claim the priority allocation the scheme provides.
- →Keep the no-house self-declaration, BPL ration card and Aadhaar of all family members ready, and track the file through the BDO office.
