What is CG Suposhan Nutrition Scheme?
Chhattisgarh Mukhyamantri Suposhan Abhiyan addresses child malnutrition and maternal health by providing: free nutritious hot meal (hot cooked food) daily to pregnant/lactating women and children under 3 at Anganwadi centres, free nutrition kits (iron tablets, folic acid, calcium supplements, protein supplement) monthly, take-home ration (THR) for children 6-35 months (2 kg poha + 1 kg groundnut chikki/month), and home visits by Anganwadi worker. CG has significantly reduced severe acute malnutrition (SAM) through this scheme. 40 lakh+ children and 10 lakh+ pregnant women covered. No income limit — all Anganwadi beneficiaries.
Under this scheme, eligible beneficiaries receive Free daily hot meal + monthly nutrition kit + take-home ration — CG pregnant women and children under 5 (Anganwadi beneficiaries). The scheme was launched in 2019 and is implemented by the Government of Chhattisgarh.
