What is CG Godhan Nyay Cow Dung?
Chhattisgarh Godhan Nyay Yojana is a unique CG flagship scheme — the state government purchases cow dung from farmers and cattle owners at ₹2/kg through Gauthans (village-level cattle shelters). The collected dung is converted into vermicompost and organic fertilizer by SHG women, then sold to farmers at subsidised prices. Income to cattle owners: ₹2/kg × volume sold. No limit on quantity. Payment fortnightly via DBT. 10,000+ Gauthans operational. 5 lakh+ cattle owners benefiting. Additionally, cattle registered at Gauthan can access free veterinary care. Revenue-neutral for state — sold as organic fertilizer/biogas. Apply at nearest Gauthan or Gram Panchayat.
