What is Birsa Harit Gram Yojana JH?
Birsa Harit Gram Yojana is Jharkhand's flagship plantation-cum-livelihood scheme under MGNREGS. Every covered rural family receives 300 fruit-bearing saplings (mango, litchi, guava, amla, banana, jackfruit) free to plant on their land. MGNREGS wages are paid for plantation work. After 4–5 years, families earn ₹20,000–50,000/year from fruit harvest. Launched by CM Hemant Soren in 2020. Over 30 lakh households covered. SC/ST families given first priority.
Under this scheme, eligible beneficiaries receive 300 free fruit saplings + MGNREGS wages for plantation — Jharkhand rural families. The scheme was launched in 2020 and is implemented by the Government of Jharkhand.
