What is A&N Island Development Livelihood Scheme?
The Andaman & Nicobar Island Area Development and Livelihood Scheme provides infrastructure support and livelihood grants to residents of remote and outer islands in the A&N archipelago. Benefits include improved boat ferry connectivity, solar power installation, community livelihood grants of ₹10,000–₹50,000 for fishing, farming, and cottage industries, and skills training for tourism and hospitality. The scheme is implemented by the A&N Administration in coordination with the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Island Development Agency (IDA).
