What is Ladakh PMAY-Gramin Housing?
The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin (PMAY-G) in Ladakh UT provides ₹1.3 lakh financial assistance to BPL rural households for construction of a pucca house. Given Ladakh's extreme cold and high-altitude conditions, a climate-responsive construction norm is followed — houses must include adequate insulation, double-glazed windows, and a solar passive design. An additional top-up from UT funds may be provided for the extra material cost. Beneficiaries also get 90 person-days of MGNREGS wages. Selection is from the SECC 2011 / Awaas+ priority list.
