What is NCS Portal?

The National Career Service (NCS) is a flagship mission-mode project under the Ministry of Labour and Employment that operates as India's official free online job portal — ncs.gov.in. NCS connects job seekers, employers, training providers, career counsellors, and placement organisations on a single digital platform. Services include: free job seeker registration, vacancy alerts via SMS/email matching candidate profile, online job application, career counselling at 200+ Model Career Centres (MCCs) across India, free skill training (in partnership with TCS iON, NSDC, and others), aptitude testing, and job fairs/placement drives. NCS covers 52 sectors with detailed career information in video and text format. The portal has registered 4+ crore job seekers and 60+ lakh employers as of 2026.
