What is Bima Sakhi Yojana?

Bima Sakhi Yojana is a Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) scheme launched by PM Modi in December 2024 to empower rural and semi-urban women as LIC insurance agents. Enrolled women receive a monthly stipend of ₹7,000 (Year 1), ₹6,000 (Year 2), and ₹5,000 (Year 3) in addition to commission income from policies sold. After the 3-year period, they continue as full LIC agents earning commissions. The scheme targets 2 lakh women over 3 years and provides IRDAI agent licensing and free training.
