What is Atmanirbhar Bharat Rojgar Yojana?

Atmanirbhar Bharat Rojgar Yojana (ABRY) is a flagship employment generation scheme launched October 2020 to incentivise hiring of new employees post-COVID. The Government of India pays employer + employee EPF contributions (24% of wages) for 2 years for new employees earning up to ₹15,000/month, hired by establishments registered with EPFO. ABRY-1 ended March 2022; ABRY-2 extended till March 2024 covering 60+ lakh new employees. ABRY-3 (relaunched 2024) is currently active for new establishments. Implemented by Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO).

How to Apply for Atmanirbhar Bharat Rojgar Yojana Online?

  1. 1ABRY is claimed by employers, not individual employees — there's no separate citizen application.
  2. 2The hiring establishment must already be registered with EPFO to be eligible.
  3. 3Employer hires new employees earning up to ₹15,000/month who had no EPF account before the cutoff date.
  4. 4Employee gets a UAN (Universal Account Number) linked to Aadhaar, if not already issued.
  5. 5Employer files the monthly ECR (Electronic Challan-cum-Return) on epfindia.gov.in.
