About this student scheme
The Lakshadweep Island Development Scholarship provides ₹18,000 per year to students from Lakshadweep UT who travel to the mainland (Kerala and other states) for higher education in recognised colleges and universities. Since Lakshadweep has very limited higher education infrastructure, most students must travel to Kochi and other mainland cities for degree courses. The scholarship covers partial boarding, travel, and education expenses. It is administered by the Education Department of the Lakshadweep Administration and funds are disbursed directly to students' bank accounts.

लक्षद्वीप आइलैंड डेवलपमेंट स्कॉलरशिप उन छात्रों को ₹18,000/वर्ष देती है जो लक्षद्वीप से मुख्य भूमि (केरल आदि) पर उच्च शिक्षा के लिए जाते हैं। द्वीपों में उच्च शिक्षा सुविधाएं सीमित होने के कारण यह सहायता boarding, travel और education खर्च के लिए दी जाती है।

ലക്ഷദ്വീപ് UT-ന്റെ സ്ഥിരതാമസക്കാർ — മെയിൻലാൻഡ് കോളേജ്/യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റിയിൽ ഡിഗ്രി/ഡിപ്ലോമ കോഴ്സിൽ ചേർന്നിരിക്കണം — യോഗ്യതാ പരീക്ഷയിൽ 60% ഉം മേൽ — കുടുംബ വാർഷിക വരുമാനം ₹3 ലക്ഷത്തിൽ കുറവ്.

Which students qualify
- ✓ Permanent resident / domicile of Lakshadweep UT
- ✓ Enrolled in a recognised college or university on the mainland (outside Lakshadweep) for a degree/diploma course
- ✓ Minimum 60% marks in the qualifying examination (Class 10 or 12 depending on course level)
- ✓ Family annual income not exceeding ₹3 lakh per year
- ✓ Not already availing another full scholarship covering mainland boarding expenses

- 4Attach the requested paperwork (Domicile certificate of Lakshadweep UT, Admission letter from mainland college/university, Qualifying examination marksheet (Class 10 or 12))
- 5Verify the preview screen, submit, and write down the acknowledgement ID
- 6Return to the portal later to follow the verification stages
