What is DNH PDS Food Security Scheme?
Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu UT implements the National Food Security Act (NFSA) through its Public Distribution System (PDS), providing free 5 kg foodgrains per person per month to Priority Household (PHH) card holders and 35 kg per household per month to Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) card holders. Distribution is done through Fair Price Shops using ePoS and Aadhaar biometric authentication. The UT has an active industrial population in Silvassa and PDS covers both the tribal and non-tribal BPL population.
Under this scheme, eligible beneficiaries receive 5 kg free foodgrains/person/month (PHH) or 35 kg/household/month (AAY) at Fair Price Shops via NFSA. The scheme was launched in 2013 and is implemented by the Government of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu.
