What is DNH Kanya Vivah Yojana?
The Dadra & Nagar Haveli Chief Minister Kanya Vivah Yojana provides ₹51,000 financial assistance to BPL (Below Poverty Line) families for the marriage of their daughters. The assistance is provided as a direct bank transfer to the bride's family at the time of marriage registration. The scheme aims to reduce the financial burden on poor families, discourage dowry demands, and prevent child marriages by making the financial benefit conditional on the bride being 18+ years old. It is implemented by the Social Welfare Department of the UT Administration.
