What is Chandigarh Skill Development Scheme?
The Chandigarh Skill Development Scheme provides free vocational and technical skill training to youth aged 18–35 in Chandigarh UT across trades like IT, hospitality, retail, healthcare, construction, automotive, and beauty & wellness. Trainees receive a stipend of ₹1,500–₹2,500 per month during the training period. Training is conducted at government ITIs, Chandigarh Skill Development Mission (CSDM) empanelled centres, and NSDC partners. On successful completion, trainees receive NSQF-aligned certificates and placement assistance.
Under this scheme, eligible beneficiaries receive Free vocational skill training + ₹1,500–₹2,500/month stipend + NSQF certificate + placement support. The scheme was launched in 2017 and is implemented by the Government of Chandigarh.
