About this student scheme
The Chandigarh Post-Matric Scholarship for SC/ST Students provides financial assistance of up to ₹15,000 per year to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe students who have passed Class 10 (Matric) and are pursuing higher education in recognised institutions in or outside Chandigarh UT. The scheme covers tuition fees, maintenance allowance, and study material costs. It is centrally-sponsored and implemented by the Chandigarh UT Social Welfare Department in collaboration with the National Scholarships Portal. All applications are submitted online at scholarships.gov.in, and the amount is directly transferred to the student's bank account via DBT.

पात्रता:

Which students qualify
- ✓ SC or ST category student as certified by a competent authority
- ✓ Domicile of Chandigarh UT or recognised as a Chandigarh resident in school records

- ✓ Family annual income not exceeding ₹2.5 lakh per year
- ✓ Not availing any other full scholarship from a government source for the same course
